Tusheti is one of the most beautiful mountainous regions of Georgia which is very hardly accessible throughout the year. It is important to note that the road is closed seven months per year - closes in mid-November and opens up in the end of May. In order to get to the village of Omalo, Tusheti - three thousand meters high Abano pass should be crossed and the highest point might be snowy even in the end of August.
Day 1 - Leave for Omalo from Tbilisi. Stop for lunch in Alvani village and continue the road via Abano pass to Omalo. The road from Alvani village to Omalo will take around five hours while the drive on this day will last for seven hours in total. Dinner and overnight stay in Omalo.
Day 2 - Leave for Dartlo village from Omalo. Have a small walk in the village and then hike to Kvavlo. After the hike have lunch in Dartlo and then back to Omalo. Dinner and overnight stay in Omalo.
Day 3 - After breakfast head to Iliurta village, park the car there and hike to Vestomta village which is accessible only by foot. Have lunch in one of the most remote villages of Georgia and get back to Omalo. Dinner and overnight stay in Omalo.
Day 4 - Head to Telavi from Omalo, have lunch and wine tasting there and after lunch head to Tbilisi.
