Svaneti is one of the most beautiful mountainous regions in Georgia offering very beautiful views, awesome cuisine and very rich culture with 11th century towers, museums, churches with very old frescoes etc. Svaneti is one of the best places for trekking and hiking. This is a five days tour to Svaneti region with four overnight stays in Mestia, the main town of the region.
Day 1 - head from Tbilisi to Mestia. It is a very long, ten hours drive but totally worth it. It is possible to take the optional flight from Tbilisi to Mestia as well but the flight gets canceled very often owing to the weather. Lunch stop will be done in the town of Zugdidi which is famous for the best food & cuisine. Moreover, it is possible to explore some places of interest on the way to Mestia like Joseph Stalin's museum in Gori or Dadiani Palace in Zugdidi.
Day 2 - after breakfast at a hotel in Mestia head to Chalaadi glacier. Drive to the hiking spot takes around 30 minutes while the hike itself back and forth takes around three hours. It is an easy hike with very nice views. After hike head to Hatsvali mountain with a cable car and enjoy the views of Ushba mountain. Lunch on this day is included as well.
Day 3 - after breakfast head to Ushguli, the highest permanent settlement in Europe which also is a Unesco World hertiage site. Visit Lamaria church in Ushguli and after the church head to Skhara glacier to enjoy the views and do the small optional hike. Lunch is included on this day as well.
Day 4 - after breakfast head to Becho gorge. Becho gorge is home to one of the most beautiful Shtugra waterfalls in the whole region. The gorge has very beautiful views and the hike to the waterfalls is moderate. Lunch is included.
Day 5 - head from Mestia to Tbilisi. On the way stop at Enguri hydropower station and enjoy the views on the massive structure. It is possible to take the optional tour of the station and explore its tunnels. Lunch on this day is included.
Inclusions - hotel for four nights, lunch five times, transportation, cable car ride and the guide during hikes.
